PhD Network
There are many PhD students in the broad field of population studies throughout Europe and several initiatives have been developed to bring them together, such as PopFest and Young Demographers. Yet thus far an overarching network is lacking. The overall aim of this PhD network is therefore to bring PhD students across Europe together.
We try to do so by:
- Promoting existing initiatives for PhD students like PopFest and Young Demographers to members
- Providing a forum where new PhD initiatives can develop
- Providing a central information point (e.g. courses, job opportunities, conferences) for students
- Organising student only events at the EPC conferences
- Creating a database of the network members to facilitate networking and support between them
Want to join? Or do you have suggestions?
The exact activities of the PhD network are not yet clearly defined and we are open to any suggestions! It is also possible to take an active role in the organization. Do you have an idea for an (online) activity? Or perhaps you would like to moderate a forum? You can contact one of the members of the steering committee and ask about the possibilities.
We would also appreciate it a lot if you could answer 9 short questions about your view on the PhD Network here: https://it.surveymonkey.com/r/V7DDJYS
